How to tell if I’m a transgender or crossdresser?

If your affirmed gender is different from the gender on your birth certificate, you want others to call you (name, pronoun, etc.) with your affirmed gender, you have dysphoria about your bodily characters, and these feelings are insistent, persistent, and consistent, then your are highly possible a transgender person.

If you are just interested in wearing clothes conservatively belong to the gender different from which on your birth certificate, and that’s all, then you are possibly a person with creativity in gender expression, rather than a typical transgender.

I search on wikipedia, it says that “CD” is included in transgender infrequently…

Infrequently, the term transgender is defined very broadly to include cross-dressers,[8] regardless of their gender identity.

On this measure, I think a lot of people could identify them as transgender, but it may reduce the practical significance accordingly.

However, the real problem is, at least in China (PRC), Chinese won’t accept the ideal of multiple genders, even more, there’s people make jokes about trans people that they think their gender identity is armed helicopter. And I think you could remember that I mentioned about parents issue in my last reply to you. China only accept binary genders like there’s a line between 1 or 0, no middle zone, officially and popularly.

So identify him/herself is a trans people is a very important thing, because they need to decide will he/she have the SRS for this. In China, if trans people want their ID cards’ genders as same as their own identity, they must have SRS. There’s no other way, and this is a serious problem and a hard decision. If trans people in Chian won’t have SRS for any reason, they may not treated as transgender, and have to live their lives as the gender they hate. Even transgender who had SRS, but if they came out and tell others that they are trans, there will still be hateful violence against them, even from government. And Cross-dresser? They are the public enemy as disgusting freak right now.
